A little about Pine Spring Farm.  I acquired the property and had my house built in 1991, and raised my three children in the rural area of Louisa County.  My children are now grown and doing very well on their own.  (They think their mom has literally gone to the dogs, lol)   I decided to name my place Pine Spring a number of years later.  I purchased my first aussie in 1990, a red merle male, ASCA and NSDR registered...his name was Freckles.   And soon after that I loved the breed so much I purchased a female,  Los Rocosa breeding, she as well was registered as ASCA...I had my first litter of pups and kept one male.  I was totally sold on the breed, not only are they intelligent, their beauty and loyalty far surpass any breed I had ever owned.  Little did I know that these two dogs would lead me to where I am today.  After years of researching pedigrees I decided to switch my main breeding from working lines to conformation.  I purchased my first show black tri male, Ben when he was just a wee 10 weeks old...watching him grow into a young adult...I then decided to attend handling classes...I knew from this day forward, the breed ring was where I wanted to be.
After years of showing ponies and horses,...I can honestly say, I am competitive, but this entails a lot of hard work, it's not all glory, but the hard work you put in, the rewards are wonderful and gratifying.  To watch your dogs in the ring and do well is such a satisfying endeavor.  Once Ben started showing, just turning a year old, he finished his AKC Championship in 6 months, thanks to my wonderful handler, Reggie Moorehead of NC.  Reggie has been my mentor from day one.
I actively show my dogs in AKC, ASCA and UKC.   I have met so many wonderful people in this breed, and will meet many more.
My wonderful granddaughter Hope, has a truly natural talent for showing horses and dogs.  Hope is my Junior Handler.  What she has learned in showing horses has rewarded her and with the same natural ability in showing dogs, she will succeed.   Hope has truly excelled in the little time she has been showing and the time she has with me.  Her first AKC match she won with my Briarbrook daughter, Baby Lacey only being 6 months old at the time.  Hope has continued her success and in 3 AKC shows she has moved up to the Open Junior Competition and UKC she has already garnered a Best Junior Award.  Hope has such a bright future ahead of her.  Whether it be AKC or UKC she has had numerous people ask her to show their dogs.  I have to say she has received her competitiveness honestly..although she likes to win, she knows sportsmanship comes first.  She has been taught to congratulate those that she has competed against.    Hope loves to show, not only in Junior Showmanship but also shows in the breed ring and has done very well, she recently showed Jersey, Ventures Rollin In Crimson N Clover, my little red tri girl, to BOW for a 3 point major, Jersey is still only a puppy at 14 months and Hope only being 10, as she would correct me, 10 1/2, was a pretty impressive win for her.
I have set goals for myself, my dogs and will help my granddaughter with hers as well.  I and my dogs have accomplished a few of these goals, an  AKC/UKC Championship on Ben (Ben is being Specialed on a limited basis and is working his way toward his Grand Championship in AKC;  BOS and several Select wins).
Jersey was shown at the AKC 2010 USASA Nationals this year and won the OPEN RED BITCH Class, expertly handled by Heather Blackord.  (Heather did such an outstanding job with Jersey for the 2 months prior to the Nationals).  I wish I could have attended, but receiving that text was so thrilling...I was on cloud 9 and still am...to accomplish a win like this is awesome...my little red head has done so well.  To date, July 2010..she has 13 points and (1 major win accredited to Hope).
July 30th, Jersey completed her AKC Championship....many thanks to Judge Robert R. Frost for awarding Jersey WB/BW, with a major to finish...and thanks to Reggie for being a great handler.
BRASC Show March 19, 2011, Jersey wins RWB to a 5 point major in Saturday's am show....wins the Overall Puppy Sweeps again for the 2nd time....yay and congrats to my little red head....Jersey picks up a 5 point major for WB/BOW in the pm show...leaving her with only 1 point to achieve her ASCA CH....Jersey finished her ASCA Ch with a 3 point major shown by my good friend Tracy Merrill at the CASC April 2011,

I recently have had the opportunity to have a wonderful bred by litter (03/2010) and have kept a blue merle girl, my first bred by ....I can't wait to get Taylor out there to be shown, her parents are AKC/UKC Ch Shoreland Rumor Has It and ASCA Ch Mi-T Hallelujah Heartsong, AKC pointed.  Rumor is a CH producer and Halle has major pointed offspring.  A gorgeous look from both parents and a side gait that is exceptional.  I am hoping for great things with this youngster, Pine Springs You Belong With Me, aka Taylor.

Becky Androff of TreeStarr Australian Shepherds has allowed me to purchase (06/2010) a beautiful blue merle girl from her CH AKC/ASCA/ INT'L McMatts EZ Going (Cruiser)  x  CH AKC/ASCA Too Good To Be True (Trudi Litter...) Bunny is an awesome little girl that will excel both in the breed ring and agility.....  Many many thanks to Becky for Bunny to join us at Pine Spring Farm.

BIS GCHAKC/ASCA/CKC CH Whidbey's Moonlight Frost, aka, Tucker...this wonderful sire to our pup Grizz, has also won AOM's at WESTMINSTER KC and the USASA Nationals.  Grizz's dam GCH AKC/ASCA Ch Treestarr's Northwind Breeze is a littermate to our Jersey's sire, Fire, GCH AKC/ASCA Ch Treestarr's RmzCrk's I'm On Fire, who was a 2011 AOM winner at the USASA Nationals.
